  • Chronic mugging for exams.
  • One superb outing at Hampi. Unfortunately, my ankle bore the brunt of much of the atrocities.
  • [Old]Really taking to Typo3 stuff now. A workable YAML API. Spyc is simply superb, for all I bitch about it. Previously rigged up a workable JSON API. Just for the sake of being 1337 and no real aversion to XML. Ping me if you'd like to help.
  • Latest Read: "Hibernate in Action".
  • Latest Read 2: "The Analysis of Mind" - Russell.
  • Innovative screwup on a simple mundane GG install. wtf?! HCL sux0rs. Compiz rawks btw. Linux ftw when it comes gfx now k. And really, it isn't all that crashy either.
  • Advocacy: Narendra Modi and more.

  • Trek to Sathodi Waterfall, Karwar. Err.. make that, "Trip to Sathodi". We din't get to trek much. No big deal about the whole excercise. Except that it was the much needed weekend getaway. Kalinadi backwaters and the huge lagoon it formed rawked. Pretty scintillating sight.. especially when you 're wack enough to go there amidst torrential rain. The waterfall itself, sucked. It was dirty brown, muddy watter that seemed to be a la-Vrishabhavati-Puddle. Oh well.
  • One behemothic project. Painful. Who says  porting SQL around is easy?. Campaign for abstraction layers please, everywhere around, for all Web Apps around. Oh BTW, that isn't even the hardest part. People and crappy CMSes. aarghh!
  • Work on improvising ERP/CRM capabilities of this seemingly robust CakePHP app a friend of mine has come up with. Pretty interesting.
  • Checking out vTiger. In the context mentioned above. Forks Forks Forks. Some turn out nice.
  • Mandatory everyday-Drupal work. Many sites.
  • New found craziness. Investing close to 30 hours on it the last couple of weeks. Pretty wack, even by my standards.
  • Getting abused around. Even had a racial slur. Never refuse that advance payment.
  • Dying urge to get away from it all.
  • The usual depression: One much too similar to the post-2005-June era has crept back in. The defeatist attitude, The loathsome lethargy, The fatalistic take on things .. It's all back to haunt me.
  • The career crisis rages on. I've got ideas more preposterous than ever before.
  • The impotence to excel manifests in it all. God, what's gone haywire with me?
  • On a brighter note, Comet 17/P Holmes has been amazing. Smudgy, Hazy blob that nobody can miss. Unless you mistake it for a little wisp of cloud.

  • Our own Yeddi ! Yediyurappa thought "hastaantara" (adhikaara hastaantara) meant the handover of power. Thats much the Sanskrit context though. In Kannada, it plain means "Kai Kododu". Kumaraswamy did stick to his word dint he? (I can't miss out on Mentioning Deve Gowda's name in the context, Obviously. ) Haath given succesfully. 'Least I'll look forward to vote!

This is on the Kannada version of the Airtel ad.

The kid plays in the rain, Finally calls his dad up who's in the middle of nowhere. So thats great news about Airtel connectivity. This is what follows

Kid: appa..
Dad: heLu magane

lol. Now that tickles me. No reasonable dad (who knows reasonable kannada ofcourse) would address his son as "magane". "Mogu" is acceptable, "Mari" is acceptable too. Magane is normally prefixed with a rather vulgar adjective as to say a thing or two about your parents. Cant they pay somebody who knows some Kannada to translate it for them?

As is with the Horlicks ad.

The Kids: "Dinaagloo horlicks kudidvi"

How hard is it to grammatize it with a str_replace("Dinagloo", "Dinavoo",...) ?

I'd like to some banners like the one on the Bamboo Bazaar busstop popping up. "Kannada nirlakshya beda"

There 're new things too.

  • Arbitrary Social network on Drupal running the usaul crappy profile pages, et al... and running 600 queries for the front page.. Nice eh.
  • New all encompassing portal for a random group of institutions.
  • Measles. The usaul Oscommerce work
  • My own PMS.. with cvs problems as usaul..duhh . and with an ass load of bugs too. Boring
  • The animal care ngo still remains
  • This guy still dint get his data entry done.

Otherwise, getting addicted to Doraiswamy Iyengar's Raga Ratna Malikache...and phone convos on linguistics, phonetics, Philosophy and whatever else with arbitrary people.

I am a believer in mystic sciencies / arts (which I believe astrology is)..But That is positively hilarious :))
It can be very frustrating..especially when it starts intruding into your life and establishes control over all your actions.

It's time somebody did that..especially in the wake of some hyper fanatic cleric of the Tipu Sultan Shahi mosque, Kolkata issuing a death fatwa against Taslima Nasreen.

The edicts have become all too normal these days..I remember one against Sania Mirza ! I fancy imagining Sania playing in an opaque Burkha! Fatwas get issues for each and every goddamnn thing.

I fail to see how people who issue these things get away with it..Not only is this a perspicacious defiance of the laws of the country, bigotry towards the land..but also a criminal offence.. I cant imagine a Hindu Priest for instance, issue a death edict against an arbitrary person and getting away with it... Why should a mullah get away with it ? Such double standards..

I'd really want that cleric caught and Jailed a couple of years..That should teach some others to shut the fuck up.

I saw the admin of this site (?.. Not sure though) Posting a comment here..Perpetrating this rather delayed recall.

Some great JavaScript work there.. I would've loved to have done something like this... and I did try something similar at one time, But rather unsuccessfully so.

In any case, this is super-cool. I wish they could port this as the default editor to whatever Sampada.net uses.. TinyMCE or FCKEditor I expect, Too lazy to confirm now. The last I saw, Sampada.net needed that Convertor to render input to Kannada Unicode.

I wonder if Sampada is still running Drupal 4.6..Nothing has changed so far as I know.. Great work by Mr HPN nonetheless, and especially with the Kannada Wikipedia too.
